Sweet, Fellow SB Mama. With your FB posts ...Sarah! Sweet, Fellow SB Mama. With your FB posts today, I discovered your blog, and could not resist clicking on "Katie's story." I was so touched by all that we have in common, and even what we don't. I had never heard someone describe the EXACT feeling that I had in my pregnancy of "her spirit". So amazing! I felt so close to My Annabelle when I was pregnant with her, so much so, that I wanted to keep her there, safe in my Annabelly. Especially with the nay-saying Drs, one of which we dubbed ( and fired! ) "Dr. Doom". Annie was only expected to live a few hours outside of the womb. She has a light inside of her that "I recognized" from my pregnancy with her, just like you. I've told people that before, but never heard someone else say it! I also had those same feelings watching other kids run and play ( especially at the beach! ), and isn't it INCREDIBLE, how the beach has become such a highlight in our families?! As soon as I read this in your writing, I saw our little girls( from just a few weeks ago )SURFING!! It brought tears to my eyes. Katie ( your little shining star! ) is a few years older than Annie, and I have to say, I am so touched at the hope she brings, and comforted by what we share already. Like our faith in an awesome God. I so related to how you turned that awful phrase ( that the Dr. said ) into something BEAUTIFUL. For me, it's when people say " you saved her!" ( we were also encouraged to have an abortion several times ). My response has been " She saved me. I don't know what I ever did without her." Thank you for sharing your story Sarah. You have blessed me so much!Holly Lindenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03749511028786617295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-105983384465619219.post-8745395609952774952012-02-24T10:47:59.027-08:002012-02-24T10:47:59.027-08:00I so enjoyed reading this story. I've grown up with a brother that has many 'extras' but different extras. I'm so glad you have that blanket that helped you get through this! GOD is so so AMAZING! He has truly blessed you! They said I should consider my husband's feelings, but I just shook my head determinedly. I told them I didn't care how long it lived, or what it looked like, I would love even a lump of tissue as long as I had it. They shook their heads uncomprehendingly. It's a story that resonates close to my heart. While I was pregnant with my second son, I found out there were complications with his brain. One doctor told me that he would likely die before or shortly after birth, or be profoundly disabled if he did live. He said that I should consider an abortion. I would never do that, and now my sweet baby is nearly three years old -- and perfectly on par with his big brother. There may be future issues, but so far, so good. Love is such a powerful thing.Tanyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17486127981293088285noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-105983384465619219.post-23888558153172134302011-07-20T18:19:05.396-07:002011-07-20T18:19:05.396-07:00I'm so glad I found your blog via tales of me ...I'm so glad I found your blog via tales of me and the husband.
What an amazing story - your girls are both so lovely.
This was so beautifully written.

xo
BabymamaSusanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18389068555743575226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-105983384465619219.post-85875142201476863382011-04-25T14:32:01.620-07:002011-04-25T14:32:01.620-07:00Thank you for sharing your story and the story of ...Thank you for sharing your story and the story of your daughter. Our 17 month old has SB so I could relate to a lot of your emotions. And same as you, our faith is what got us through the fear of the unknown - those scary months before Alyssa was born. God didn't deal us the hand we were expecting, but we wouldn't trade it for the world. As Katie is several years older than Alyssa, I'll be following your story to see what might be in store for us! If interested, Alyssa's story is at www.carepages.com, and search for Alyssa Luersman.
